Celebrating 30 Years of Play

KABOOM! was founded in 1996, with a simple vision: every kid in every community — no matter their background or where they live — would have the same opportunity to fully enjoy a childhood filled with play. For 30 years since, KABOOM! has brought partners together to build transformational playspaces for kids. Over its history, KABOOM! has built 17,000 playspaces, engaged over 1.5 million volunteers, and brought new play opportunities to more than 12 million kids. This work has shaped KABOOM! into the organization it is today — working towards one mission: End playspace inequity. For good.

We're Proud to Be a Partner in Play

We're proud to have been KABOOM!'s Partner in Play since 2019. Landscape Structures is KABOOM!'s primary supplier of playground equipment and partner in building hundreds of playspaces in communities in need across the United States and Canada. In partnership with KABOOM!, these playgrounds now deliver safe places to play and a sense of collective ownership and pride that revitalizes neighborhoods. 

Landscape Structures has a rich history of working with KABOOM! for nearly three decades on community-built playspaces including several in Oakland schools through the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, a collaboration with Miracle League in Covington GA, as well as many other much-needed playgrounds. 

KABOOM!'s State of Our Kids Report

Children today are facing growing challenges that affect their mental health and overall well-being. In its 2026 State of Our Kids Report, KABOOM! explores those challenges while highlighting the important role that play, physical activity, nature and community playspaces can have in helping kids thrive.

Developed with input from leading child development organizations and a Youth Editorial Board, the report offers research, perspectives and ideas for creating healthier childhoods. As a proud KABOOM! partner, Landscape Structures supports the report's message that every child deserves access to outdoor places where they can play, connect and grow.

Community-Built Playspace Grants

KABOOM!'s Community-Built Playspace Grants bring together local communities, funding partners and Landscape Structures to create playgrounds that reflect the people who will use them. Through KABOOM!'s unique grant model, available projects are tied to specific funding partners and geographic areas, creating opportunities where support is available.

Children help imagine their dream playground while neighbors, volunteers and community organizations come together to build it. As KABOOM!'s trusted playground equipment partner, Landscape Structures is proud to provide the play equipment that helps bring these community visions to life.

When communities roll up their sleeves to build their own playspaces, they become part of something bigger than the playground itself. That hands-on experience creates a lasting sense of pride, personal investment and shared ownership, while giving children a welcoming place to play, connect and grow.
